Golden Tote 2016 Mystery Tote Reveal #1

The Box: Golden Tote's Mystery Tote
The Price: $60
The Goods: 4 items from previous Golden Tote Sales

Skies are Blue Top: I love the color of this, but I am not crazy about shirts with elastic bottom.

Potter's Pot Top: I actually really, really like this.  It's loose, swingy, and comfy but not in a way that I feel like I'm wearing maternity clothes.

Skies are Blue Dress: I can't make up my mind on whether to keep this dress or try to trade it.  It's cute and I like the cut, but light colors and I don't get along very well.

THML Top: I love the buttons down the back, but this beige just isn't right for my skin tone.

Reveal for my second mystery coming soon.
Check out the reveal for the denim mystery bag.

Golden Tote 2016 Denim Mystery Tote Review

The Box: Golden Tote's Denim Mystery Tote
The Price: $60
The Goods: 3 pairs of denim from previous Golden Tote Sales

Celebrity Pink Trouser Jean: These jeans are super soft.  I'm not sure how much wear I'll get out of them, though, because the cut is best for heels, which I don't really get to rock much at the moment.

Just Black Low Rise Skinny Jeans: I love black jeans but the fit of these just wasn't right for me.  They're just a bit too low and a bit too short.

Scarlet Boulevard Yellow Skinny Jeans:  Ughhhh...I am just not a yellow person.  I'm kind of tempted to keep these just because I like how they fit.

So...I thought that the denim tote would be my safest bet, but I forgot how picky I am with jeans.  All of them are *almost* perfect, but fall just short for one reason or another.

Modcloth Stylish Surprise Dress & Apparel Review

Modcloth recently had another of their Stylish Surprise sales and I managed to snap up a few of the apparel and one of the dresses.  Unfortunately, all of the options have sold out but I still want to show off my haul.

Working Order Skirt - Green: (Originally $39.99, Final Price $11.99)  Man, I want so desperately to love this skirt.  However, my high school's color was green so this just makes me think of  a cheer skirt.  I really like the cut of it, though, so I'm hoping I can convince myself to wear it.

Warm and Fuzzy Coat - Pink: (Originally $119.99, Final Price $35.99)  I didn't really dig this coat until I put it on.  It's incredibly warm and the cut is actually really cute.  It's not my favorite coat ever, but I'll get plenty of wear out of it when the weather gets cooler again.

Touch of Something Delicate Top - Peach: (Originally $44.99, Final Price $13.99)  If this were black I'd be all over it, but this is just not my color.

Breezy Night Stroll Dress - Plum: (Originally $49.99, Final Price $14.99)  I squealed when I pulled this out of my box.  I've been debating buying the blue version of this dress but the fact that this one is purple is like a dream come true.

I paid $65 total and got well over that in value - $76.96 based on the final sales prices or $254.96 in original retail.  I am slightly annoyed that three of the items were sold at prices less than what I paid for the Surprises.  That said, I'll wear 3/4 pieces so I'm pretty pleased.  I also still have 4 Apparel pieces in transit to me and can't wait to see what I got.

Spring 2015 Elizabeth & Clarke Review

The Cost: $30-$60 a season, depending on the number of shirts you choose
The Goods: 1-3 high quality tops that you choose from their seasonal collection.

The Stephens:  I adore this.  It's incredibly soft and easy to wear.  It's my second favorite E&C top ever, beaten only by the Williams.

The Shannon:  I was kind of "meh" on this one until I tried it tucked into a skirt.  It made a WORLD of difference.  It's no Stephens, but I'll definitely get some wear out if it. ;)

I've found that their more structured pieces are kind of hit or miss for my body and taste, but the other pieces are always a dream.  Basically, E&C - give me aaaall the modal!

My Lust List (Or: Where Some of My Tax Refund Might Go)

One of the few things in my life that I DON'T procrastinate on is filing my taxes.  I usually split my refund between "responsible" purchases (groceries, student loan payments, etc) and "dammit I deserve something fun" purchases.  Here are a few of the things I'm considering for my "fun" options.

So So Happy is one of my biggest guilty pleasures.  They released a collaborative line with Iron Fist (another guilty pleasure brand of mine) on the same day that I filed my taxes.  Coincidence?  I think not.  I'd be happy with most of the line, but this henley and this sweater are my top two picks.
Ozzie Henley / Lucky Sweater
Speaking of guilty pleasure brands, I want practically every piece of  Her Universe apparel ever.  These two dresses (and this skirt) have been on my wish list for several months now.
Tenth Doctor Dress / Darth Vader Dress
On a less guilty note, both of these brands donate a portion of profits to animal charities.  Oh, and they also make super cute stuff.
The Tree Kisser / Arm the Animals
My job hunt is perfect justification for a new semi-professional looking bag, right?  Great, thought so.  Now I just have to decide if I like the grey or the black better.
Free People
I've been on a quest for the perfect wear-every-day kind of ring for about a year now and I think this one, but in silver, might fit the bill.
Elisha Marie
Okay, so admittedly the last thing I need is more shoes but look how adorable these are!  I mean, if cute shoes won't motivate me to be more active, I don't know what will.
Adidas
I'm also stalking AirBnB to find a place for a weekend getaway with J.  Man, deciding how to spend my refund is harder than filing for it!

February Wantable Intimates Review

The Price: First box is $40, each box after is $36
The Goods: 3-4 items chosen based on your style preferences

Rene Rofe Thermal Pant: (~$10)  For some reason, the size they chose for me is several sizes too large.  It's the size that's printed on my packing slip so I'm assuming that someone misclicked?

Real Fusion Tank: ($32)  The material on this is so strange.  It's sort of similar to swimsuit material, and I swear I have a pair of VS boyshorts made out if it.  I like it for boyshorts, but for a tank it makes me feel a little claustrophobic.

Pajama Drama Cami: ($21)  I generally prefer camis without lace, but I quite like the cut of this one.  It's soft and swingy and doesn't feel restricting.

Total Value: $63

Well, this month is better in value than last month's, but overall I give my second attempt at a Wantable Intimates subscription a resounding "Meh."  They've been revamping how all of their subs work and I'm not really impressed with it.  Besides the decrease in the number of items, it seems like they aren't sending out the same quality in brands either.

February Sock of the Month Club Review

The Price: $12/month
The Goods: A pair of socks.  Obvs.

The Zissou: Orange isn't one of my favorite colors, so I think I'd have actually liked these better if they were just blue and white.  Still, I have no complaints about the fit or comfort of Sock Club's socks so I'll just wear them in outfits where the orange wouldn't be visible.

Jinx Mysterious Bag of Mystery Women's: Giganto Edition Review (Restocked Edition!)

The Box: Jinx's Giganto Mysterious Bag of Mystery  (See my other Jinx reviews here!)
The Cost: $30 (one time purchase)
The Goods: Approximately $90 worth of items.  Could be anything from hoodies to toys to stickers - all from the Jinx store!

League of Legends Corporate Mundo Tee: ($21.99)  I don't play LoL, so I'll probably sell or trade this.  I have no idea who this guy is, but I really like his color scheme.

Portal 2 Aperture Labs Beanie: ($14.99)  Sadly, we got this in our last men's bag too.  J doesn't wear beanies, so this will get sold/traded as well.

More Dots! Tee: ($21.99)  Man this sucker seems to run small.  I'll totally wear it though, because I can't look at it without laughing.  (If you don't get the reference, watch this video.  Though...you probably still won't get it if you've never played WoW.)

Battlefield 4 Lightning Skull Tee: ($21.99)  I haven't played BF4 but it's a rad tee so I'll totally wear it anyway.

Portal 2 Briefs Pack: ($19.99)  YAAAS.  Judge all you want, but I'm super excited about these.  They're adorable!  I think the aperture logo ones are my favorite.

Total Value: $100.95

I think this might be my favorite of all the women's bags I've gotten.  (It would've been a bigger hit if I hadn't *just* gotten the beanie, though.)  I'm actually kind of debating ordering another women's bag in one size up to see if that changes the variety any.

Jinx Mysterious Bag of Mystery Men's: Giganto Edition Review (Restocked Edition!)

The Box: Jinx's Giganto Mysterious Bag of Mystery  (See my other Jinx reviews here!)
The Cost: $30 (one time purchase) (Not currently available)
The Goods: Approximately $90 worth of items.  Could be anything from hoodies to toys to stickers - all from the Jinx store!

League of Legends Signed Tee: ($21.99)  Neither I nor J play LoL, so this will be sold/traded/gifted.

Gamer T-Shirt: ($21.99)  This isn't an "AW MAN HOW COOL!" kind of shirt, but it's not awful.  J will wear it, and that's what counts...right?

Walking Dead Tee: ($21.99)  As soon as I told J he could probably have everything in this mystery bag, I pulled this out and took back what I said.  I'm absolutely keeping this for myself (though J will probably borrow it.)

Portal 2 Aperture Labs Beanie: ($14.99)  I've been on a beanie kick lately

Minecraft Mobs Caves Sticker Packs: ($2.99)  J and I have been playing a lot of Minecraft lately, so I love these.  Love.

Diablo III Face Sticker Pack: ($3.99)  I played Diablo III a ton when it first came out and then quit and have never gone back.  However, I really l like the face sticker.

Fragging Permit Sticker: ($1.50)  This made me laugh.  It also made me want to play CoD.  Brb, fraggin' noobs.

Total Value: $89.44

Okay, so...yes, I got a value equal to what came in my previous Jinx bags.  However, I'm a little disappointed and here's why:  you can order a mystery bag of 3 shirts for $19.99.  If you take that into consideration, it sort of lowers the awesome on it.  Part of the reason I've loved these Giganto bags is because there's a chance to get ANYTHING in the store, and this sticker/shirt combo just seems a little disappointing.  (Hi, my name is Katrina and I'm spoiled when it comes to mystery bags. :) )

Golden Tote 2015 Mystery Tote Review

The Box: Golden Tote Mystery Tote
The Price: $60 plus shipping
The Goods:  One past Golden Tote chosen item, one Puella item, and two past surprise items.

Hourglass Lily Tunic/Dress:  This was a chosen item last February.  I *think* I like it, but I'm a little iffy on how the sleeves fit.  The ends are elastic, but it's not tight enough to make them stay put on my arm.

Puella Swing Shirt:  This is the new item made specifically for the mystery totes.  I really, really like it!  It's extremely comfortable, lightweight enough to wear in Texas's excuse for winter, and perfect with leggings.

THML Embroidered Tunic: I think that if this were sleeveless and a different color, I might like it.  As it is, not so much.

Jolie Dolman Sweater:  I actually received this back in September.

Extra-small and small totes are still available but the other sizes are sold out.  Even though only one or two of my items were hits, I'm actually debating ordering another mystery tote because of all of the goodies other girls are getting.  (And here I thought I wasn't much for gambling.)
