December iJustine Fancy Box Review

The Box: iJustine Fancy Box
The Price: $39 + shipping
The Goods: $80+ worth of Fancy goodies curated by iJustine.

Tylt Tunz Headphones - Green: ($39.99)  For some reason, J and I have a hard time keeping up with headphones, so it's always good to have an extra pair.  I'm not crazy about the color, but at least it will make them easier to find.

Quirky Contort: ($10)  In my experience, Quirky items are really cool...for the very short time that they actually work.

Well-Kept Screen Cleansing Wipes - Cape View: ($4.99)  It seems like my glasses and my phone screen are both always smudgey so these will be super useful.  Plus, the pack is a perfect purse size.

Whooz? - Characters: ($13)  I don't have any apple products, but I'm hoping that these might work on one of my other chargers.

Pebble Smartstick - Purple: ($24.33)  This isn't as powerful is the Mophie that we have but it certainly is more portable.  I'll probably carry it with me as a "just in case" and stick with the Mophie when I *know* I'll need extra power.

Total Value: $92.31

Sadly, this is the last iJustine box from Fancy.  Starting in January, any existing subscriptions are converted to Mystery subscriptions.  I'm a little disappointed, too, because I think she did pretty well with cutated themes.

November iJustine Fancy Box Review

The Box: iJustine Fancy Box
The Price: $39 + shipping
The Goods: $80+ worth of Fancy goodies curated by iJustine.

Tetris Notebook: ($9)  I make all of my notes digitally but if I were to use a notebook, this one is great.  It has different colored sections and the edges of each section are cut into a different Tetris piece.

Space Invaders Crayons: ($3.30, down from $11)

Infamous Mario Brothers Print: ($7.50, down from $25)

Controller Pouch by Sprayground: ($6, down from $20)  I'm not sure what I'll use this for, but it's cute.

Pixel Sunglasses: ($2.70, down from $9)  J has an orange pair of these from Loot Crate and I'm excited to have my own pair.

8-bit Tattoos: ($1.80, down from $6)  Even though I have a few real tattoos, I still dig temporary ones.  The 8-bit pickaxe will be perfect with my Minecraft shirt.

Pacman Gadget Decals: ($5)  Man, I wish my laptop wasn't black.  I'll have to find something light colored to decorate with these.

Total Value: $35.30, $85 original price

I have mixed emotions about this box.  I was stoked about the item selection, but seeing that I could have bought each item separately for less money is a little disappointing.

October iJustine Fancy Box Review

The Box: iJustine Fancy Box
The Price: $39 + shipping
The Goods: $80+ worth of Fancy goodies curated by iJustine.

Zombie Disguise Shirt: ($19)  This shirt is really cool, but unfortunately the size they sent was waaay too big.  (Even though my size was listed in my subscription notes...)  I emailed Fancy about it and hopefully they'll help me out in getting the proper size.

The front of the shirt flips up to reveal a zombie face.  It's definitely not to be worn without an undershirt!

Cold Blooded Ice Cube Tray: ($6.99)  I'm actually really excited about this.  I won't be using it for ice, but I think it'll be an awesome candy mold.  Perfect for chocolate that bites back.

The Vampire Combat Manual: ($15)  I'll never complain about receiving a book in a subscription box.  I plan on reading this, along with the book from this month's Loot Crate, this week to get in the Halloween spirit.

Box o Zombies: ($7.99)  This is essentially a box of little toy soldiers...except that they're a zombie army!  I'm going to see if J wants to put them in his collection of cool geeky stuff.  Otherwise, they'll be swapped or gifted.

Freaky Fangs: ($10.52)  J already claimed these and has been wearing them randomly - both at home and in public.  He said they're not the highest quality teeth, but he's having fun with them anyway.  (Like I've said before...he's 27 going on 6...)

Gama Go Bite Me Bottle Opener: ($9.99)  I'm surprised that this came with a keychain attachment because it's actually really heavy.  I'm all about unique barware - we have skull shotglasses and a shaker labelled Poison.  Basically, it's Halloween 24/7 in our house.

Undead Fred Cookie Cutters: ($10)  These are great, but I'm definitely going to need to work on my decorating skills if I want them to actually look like zombies.

Total Value: $79.49

I have really mixed emotions about this box.  On the one hand, it's all really cool stuff that I'll actually use.  On the other, if I didn't know this was curated by iJustine, I'd never guess it.  It would be cool if she would do a monthly video to accompany this box, explaining her curating process and why she chose each item.

Fancy Men's Mystery Box

The Cost: $10 + shipping (One time purchase)
The Goods: Choose Men's or Women's and receive over $30 worth of products.

Kikkerland Bamboo Paper Straws: ($7)  J was surprisingly excited about these.  He has a (slightly weird) obsession with straws so this was actually perfect.

Work Hard Stay Humble Wall Decal: ($20) I received one in my box too.  I'll never use mine, but I'm not sure if J will put his up somewhere in his art nook or something.

GameDay Pre-Shave Invigorating Scrub: ($.75)  Since I've been doing "Operation Empties" (which I really need to post about) J has started trying to use up all of his products too.  I'm not sure how much progress he's made, but this is already in the queue.

Quirky Cordies: ($4.99)  Quirky products tend to be hit or miss, but this one J said he'd get a lot of use out of.

Total Value: $32.74

I paid $16.95 after the FOLLOWUP10 coupon discount and shipping.  In terms of value, this box was extremely disappointing.  The highest price item was a repeat from my Women's box and I won't even use the first one!  On the bright side, J will certainly use all of the other products.

Fancy Women's Mystery Box Review

The Cost: $10 + shipping (One time purchase)
The Goods: Choose Men's or Women's and receive over $30 worth of products.

Work Hard Stay Humble Wall Decal: ($20) Meh.  I have several wall decals that I've never gotten around to putting up, but I can't really see this going anywhere in our house.

LAEX Card Holder: ($30)  I have no idea how this is worth $30.  I wouldn't buy it for myself, but I'll probably use it whenever I don't feel like carrying a purse.  Maybe.  Or not.  I don't know.  I'm not crazy about it, but I can see how it could come in handy.

One side has the LAEX logo and the other has "Be Foolish."

China Glaze Platinum Silver: ($6.49)  When I tried swatching this, it was a streaky mess.  I'm hoping I can make it work for nail art or stamping.

Notebooks: ($12) As far as notebooks go, these are really cool.  I already have a couple notebooks that I rarely use, so I'm not sure that I have much need for these.  I do think I need to pick this one up for my dad.

Total Value: $68.49

Well...I must confess, I was a bit disappointed with this box.  I paid $16.95 after shipping (and a 10% discount using FOLLOWUP10) so I got the value back, but I still feel let down somehow.  It seems like the people who ordered their mystery boxes earlier on got a better selection.

June Coco Rocha Fancy Box Review

The Fancy has several different subscription boxes to choose from, so I decided to go with Coco Rocha for starters and then rotate through the other options until I've tried them all!

The cost of this box is $39 plus shipping and handling and it promises at least $80 worth of products.

Corkcicle Color: ($24.99)  This is supposed to be great for maintaining the temp of white wines and cooling red wines.  I'm not a big wine drinker, but this will make a fantastic gift for someone I know who is.

Solemates High Heelers: ($9.95) These go on your high heels and keep you from sinking down into the grass.  Most of my heels have thicker heels, but these are totally brilliant.

L'Occitane Amande Shower Oil: ($3.37) This has a very light, pleasant scent.  If I don't use this, I'm sure J will.

Moleskine Pocket Ruled Notebook:  ($12.95) I don't write things down much, but I'll carry this in my purse just in case the need ever arises.  Mostly because it's purple.  I'll carry anything purple.

Dannijo Wyatt Bracelet: ($80) This particular bracelet is no longer available, but the cached version of the page says it was $80 on sale for $64.  I really, really like this.  Would I have paid $60+ for it? Heck no, but I'll wear the crap out of it now that I have it.  I'm stoked that I got the lavender color.

Grand total: $131.26.  I wouldn't have paid nearly that much for this stuff, but I'll make use out of all of it so it was absolutely worth the cost of the box.
