Spring 2015 FabFitFun Review

The Box: FabFitFun VIP
The Cost: $49.99/season
The Goods: Full size, premium beauty, fitness, fashion and wellness products guaranteed to be worth $125 or more.

Intense Body Blast DVDs: ($27.99)  I honestly don't remember the last time I worked out.  I really need to get back to it.  I really enjoyed pilates when I did it, so I'm hoping I'll like this.

Jules Smith Watercolor Scarf: ($42)  I don't wear scarves often and when I do, it's usually when the weather is much cooler.   I'm not sure how much wear I'll get out of this one but I really like the colors of it.

Rifle Paper Co Bon Voyage Coaster Set: ($16)  I love the artwork on these.  There's no such thing as too many coasters, right?

Mirace-Gro Groables - Basil: ($1)  We already have a rather sizeable basil plant but J and I are sort of plant hoarders so we'll never say no to another one.

Orly Cake Pop: ($8)  I adore this milky pink shade.  It's just begging for nail art.

Orly BB Creme: ($15)  I feel so weird when my nails are naked, but maybe this will be good for the times I'm just too lazy to do something creative or dramatic with my nails.

Ofra Brushes - #11 & #20: ($15.95 & $29.95)  I already have several shadow brushes but, really, is there such a thing as too many makeup brushes?  The only odd thing about these is that they smell vaguely of paint.

Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster Restoration Serum: ($48)  I'm always a little hesitant to try serums as my skin is very acne-prone.  This has a lot of good reviews, even from people with acne, so I'm going to give it a shot.

Cosmos Creations - Salted Caramel: ($1.31)  I've had these before.  They're sort of a sweet version of Cheetos...both in texture and in addictiveness.

Yasi Tattoos: FFF values these at $36 but that seems way excessive.  Also, I'm not sure that I'd want to wear a tattoo that says "swallow."

Hello Fresh Coupon: I've been debating trying Hello Fresh, so maybe this will be the incentive I needed.

Total Value: $205, not including Hello Fresh coupon and the tattoos

It's not an altogether bad box, but I think I liked the Winter box better.  I am excited to see how my skin likes the serum, though.

Winter 2014 FabFitFun VIP Review

The Box: FabFitFun VIP
The Cost: $49.99/season
The Goods: Full size, premium beauty, fitness, fashion and wellness products guaranteed to be worth $125 or more.

Zumba Max DVD and Gift Card: ($47.50ish)  They don't sell Zumba Max by itself, so I'm valuing it at the same price they sell other single DVDs.  I've never done Zumba but I'm always willing to try a new work out.  (Well, okay...not ALWAYS.  You know what I mean.)

Fashion Project Gift Card: ($30)  This website is basically an online consignment store but instead of paying commissions, they donate a portion of proceeds to charity.

Salted 3 Months Membership: ($29.97)  I usually just stick to looking up videos on Youtube, but "Grilled Cheese Master Class" sounds kind of interesting.

Passport to Beauty Tibetan Goji Berry Eye Serum: ($88)  Honestly, I'm kind of afraid to try this.  My luck I'd fall in love with it and I definitely don't think I'd want to spend that much on eye serum.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive: ($39)  I am stoked about this.  I love Juice Beauty and have always wanted to try one of their peels.  It gets rave reviews and I cannot wait to try it out.

Half United Classic Necklace - Silver: ($34)  Half United uses recycled bullet casings to make jewelry, and every product sold helps raise money to fight hunger.  I'm really pleased that I got the silver version, but I may put it on a different chain.

yourMinerals Eye Shimmer - Swedish Winter and Glistening Grey: ($23 each)  I've been obsessed with using Glamour Doll Eyes All Nighter but once I finally burn out on it, I'll give these a try.

Daniel Stone COCO Candle - White Tea and Ginger Root: ($42)  This smells really great but it got completely shattered in shipping.

Justin's Classic Almond Butter: ($.83 Sponsored)  I think I've tried almond butter and wasn't a fan, but I honestly can't remember.

Organic Valley Organic Balance Protein Shake - Vanilla: ($2.99 Sponsored)  This doesn't appeal to me at all, so I've already given it to J.

Special K Snack Bar - Salted Pretzel Chocolate: ($.44 Sponsored)  I really like Special K bars, so this will absolutely get eaten.

Total Value: $326.50   (This doesn't include the price of sponsored items OR the Salted trial which isn't a unique code.)

I'm really sad about the candle, but I've emailed FFF to see if they'll send me a replacement.  If so, I'll be totally happy with this quarter's box just based on that and the peel alone.

Fall 2014 FabFitFun VIP Box Review

The Box: FabFitFun VIP
The Cost: $49.99/season
The Goods: Full size, premium beauty, fitness, fashion and wellness products guaranteed to be worth $125.

CHI 44 Iron Guard: ($13.77)  I have had the worst luck finding a thermal protection product. They all seem to either do absolutely nothing or do too much and weigh my hair down.  I'm starting to feel like Goldilocks.  Maybe this will be my "just right" product.

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster: ($56)  This stuff has really good reviews, so I have high hopes.  I mostly just have dry skin issues in the winter, so I look forward to trying this when cold weather finally hits Texas.

Great Soles Ballet Barre Socks: ($13)  These were designed with studio fitness classes in mind and the designs on the bottom are actually anti-slip things.  I don't go to fitness classes, but I do like wearing socks that have grippies whenever I'm playing Just Dance or doing an Xbox Fitness workout.

Beauty for Real True Color Lip Cream - Always There: ($22)  This just isn't right for me.  The color is a bit too brown for my skintone and it has a strong lipsticky smell that bothers me.  That said, the tube itself is really cool.  The cap has a light in it that you turn on with a button at the top and there is a mirror on one side as well.

Honest Co. Bar Soap - Juniper Sage: ($4.95)  I've never actually tried any of the Honest Co products even though I hear nothing but good things about them.  I don't typically use bar soap, but I really like this scent.

Jessie Steele Ava Apron - Rosy Pink Polka Dot: ($29.99)  I LOVE aprons; I think I have four or five now! I really like the fact that it has pockets and the polka dot print is adorable.  This totally makes me want to have a dinner party.

Gramr Gratitude Co. CardsSealing Wax, and Wax Press: ($4 ea, $4, and $25)  I've always wanted a wax seal, so I was SUPER excited when I pulled this out.  I just need someone to send a thank you card to now!

LaNatura Pure Vegan Body Butter - Pomegranate: ($13)  I love this scent, but I'm undecided on the butter itself.  It doesn't feel overly greasy, but it also doesn't soak in cleanly - it left my hands looking really shiny.

Numi Tea - Moroccan Mint: ($.39 - Bonus Item)  I really need to step up my tea consumption.  I have accumulated enough from sub boxes that I probably never need to buy any again.

Mary's Gone Crackers - Black Pepper: ($.48 - Bonus Item) I'm picky about crackers and I am not a fan of these.  They're way too crisp for my taste.

Total Value:  $197.71 (Not including bonus items)

The box also included a 3 month subscription to FitFusion, but I'm not including it in the total as it requires a credit card to sign up *and* it's not a unique code.   My two favorite items - the apron and the wax seal - more than cover the cost of the box, so I'm pretty happy overall!

FabFitFun VIP Summer 2014 Review

The Box: FabFitFun VIP
The Cost: $49.99/season
The Goods: Full size, premium beauty, fitness, fashion and wellness products guaranteed to be worth $125.

Thursday Friday Diamonds Away Mini Clutch - Swim: ($35)  This is a bit bigger than your average Ipsy bag.  I'm not a fan of the design I got, so I'll try to either sell or swap this.

Popchips Potato Chips - Barbeque: ($.92)  I'll almost never complain about potato chips.  I ate these almost immediately after opening my box.  I like Popchips a lot but never think to buy them!

FFF Water Bottle: ($15) That's the value that FabFitFun has given to this bottle, but I'm a little doubtful of it.  The one from May's Popsugar was only $17 and was a MUCH nicer bottle.  This one says "Grab life by the exercise balls!" around the bottom of it and overall feels cheaply made.

Sonya Dakar Flash Facial: ($95)  I'm almost afraid to try this because I'm so worried I'll love it!  It gets great reviews but man, that price.

Balanced Guru No Frizz Oil: ($25)  I've never heard of this brand but I'm super excited to try it out.  Organic, cruelty-free, sustainable, and reasonably priced?  I'm in.

Kisstixx - Strawberry/Chocolate: ($5.99)  I tried the chocolate one and MAN is the flavor strong.  It doesn't taste like chocolate, really, but it lasts a long time.  Maybe too long - I couldn't get rid of it!

Zoya Nail Polish - Thandie: ($9) YES!  I have been in need of a good orange!  This is pretty much exactly the color I had in my head, and it's Zoya.  Zoya = <3.

Pur~lisse Pur~protect SPF 30: ($55)  I think I'm set now for the summer with everyday sunscreens.  Now I just need to find some higher SPF lotions that don't make me break out!

Skintimate Skin Therapy Lotionized: ($1.99 - Sponsored)  I don't use shave gel, but I'll give it to J.  (He's probably got enough shave creams and gels to last for a year or two...or five...at this point.)

Always Xtra Protection Long Daily Liners: ($1.20 - Sponsored) Meh.  Feminine hygiene products.  Yeah.  Meh.

Slimfast Have Your Cake... Protein Meal Bar - Vanilla: ($1 - Sponsored)  I nibbled on part of this just to try it out.  It's not horrible, but it's not the most delicious protein bar I've ever tasted.

Total Value: $240.91 (plus $4.19 in sponsored products)

You know what's weird?  When I go to the store, I tend to gravitate towards the most expensive items.  However, 9 times out of 10, the items I'm most excited about in a subscription box are some of the least expensive!  Don't get me wrong, I'll use the pricier products, but I'm stoked about the Zoya and the hair oil!
