JewelMint Olive Yew Style Surprise

The Box: JewelMint Style Surprise: Olive Yew
The Cost: $24.99
The Goods: Three pieces from designer Olive Yew.

Peace Stud Earrings: I absolutely would have purchased these for myself.  I prefer silver jewelry, usually wear studs, and like peace signs.  They're right up my alley.

Ellipses Bracelet: ($38)  I didn't *love* it when I saw it, but it's starting to grow on me.  It's simple enough that I could wear it with anything.  Plus, the beads move around on the bar so it's perfect for fidgeting.

Gold Two-Bar Necklace:  Eh.  It's gold, so it does lose some points there.  I don't hate it, but I would have liked it much better in silver.

Black Jelly Clutch: ($29.99)  I ordered when this was offered as a GWP.  I'm not sure that I'll ever use it, but it is fun - and you can't beat free accessories.

Total Value: Over $38

It seems like the running theme with these Collective Style Surprises is that the majority of pieces are things that were never offered on the JewelMint website.  It is a little frustrating that for all I know the earrings and necklace could be something other than Olive Yew.  That said, I will probably wear all three of the pieces I received.

JewelMint Collective Style Surprise: Hysteric Co. Review

The Box: JewelMint Style Surprise: Hysteric Co.
The Cost: $29.99
The Goods: Three styles from Hysteric Co.

Gold Pyramid Studs: Love, love, love these.  They're small and edgy and feminine at the same time.  Seriously.  Love.

Gold Bar Necklace: Another winner.  It's small and simple, which is what I generally prefer in a necklace.  It reminds me of this Baublebar necklace, except that it has three small rhinestones on one end.

Gold Infinity Ring:  I have mixed feelings about infinity jewelry - when did it get so popular? - but I think I like this ring.  It's small and dainty enough that I can wear it every day, and the cashier at the grocery store complimented me on it so...there's that.

I liked most of the Hysteric Co pieces on the Jewelmint website, so I had high hopes for this box.  I would have preferred silver pieces over gold, but they're all styles that I would have purchased for myself.  It is a little frustrating that none of the pieces I received seem to exist on the Jewelmint or Hysteric Co websites.

Jewelmint We Are All Smith Mystery Box Review

The Box: Jewelmint Style Surprise: We Are All Smith
The Cost: $29.99
The Goods: Three pieces from the WAAS line.

Vintage Telescope Necklace: ($34)  I love this!  At first I thought it was a cannon. Nope! It's actually a working telescope.

J was particularly amused by the fact that it extends.  I'm not sure that I'd ever *need* a tiny telescope hanging around my neck, but it's a cool conversation piece.

Wrap-around Evil Eye Bracelet: ($24)  This can be worn as either a bracelet or a necklace.

Brass Hamsa Necklace: ($22 sale price)  This symbol is supposed to bring good luck, which I can certainly use.  It's not something I'd have bought for myself, but it's really pretty.

Total Value: $80

I've had really mixed feelings about my previous JewelMint mystery boxes, but liked the We Are All Smith collection over all so I figured this one might be worth the gamble.  I kind of wish I'd gotten one of the skull or vertebrae pieces, but I'm thrilled with the telescope.  I know that as a general rule I prefer silver tones, but the vintage feel of the brass in these necklaces is perfection.

JewelMint 5 Piece Mystery Box Review

The Box: 5 Piece Mystery Box

The Cost: $49.99

The Goods: 5 pieces of Jewelmint jewelry

Retro Cruise Necklace: Gold-tone jewelry isn't my favorite, but the metal isn't very obvious on this necklace so I actually quite like it.  I like how simple it is, but it still makes a statement.

It's A Cinch Bracelet: I have the wrists of a child, so on the tightest hole this bracelet is a bit loose on me.

I couldn't find the names for any of the earrings I received.  This pair is MASSIVE.  They're not my style at all, but they'd be cool on someone else.

I loved these immediately.  They're fun and funky, but they're not super big or heavy.

I was kind of "meh" about these when I first opened the box, but I put them on and I think they might grow on me.

I got this mystery box when it was on sale for $25 on Cyber Monday.  Most Jewelmint pieces are $30 each, so even if I only wear the necklace and the earrings I loved initially, this box was totally worth it.
This particular box is no longer available, but you can find all of JewelMint's current mystery boxes here.

JewelMint Rebel Rebel Mystery Box

Jewelmint has several Mystery Boxes for $29.99.  You can find them by going to Shop > Browse all > Accessories.  They're guaranteed to have two pieces of jewelry and some lucky boxes may get 20 pieces!  Plus, at the beginning of September, everyone who purchased a mystery box will be emailed a special promo code.

Both pieces were packed into the same little box and mailed in a bubble envelope.

Bare Bones Necklace: ($29.99)  Oh, look, more gold jewelry.  I knew that was probably what I'd wind up getting, though, so I'm okay with it.  I really like this necklace, even though it's gold.

Urban Escape Bracelet: ($29.99)  I'm really on the fence about this cuff.  It looked cute in the box, but when I put it on it seems weirdly puffy.  Maybe it will grow on me, though.

Sure, I'm sad I wasn't one of the lucky few with 20 pieces, but I'm really happy with the necklace - and I'll probably wind up wearing the bracelet some too.
