March's theme was Covert.  The box evidently is some sort of minigame - J completed it, but I'm not sure what it entailed. 

Blink Time Watch: ($8) This watch is solid black until you press a button on the face to display the time.  I'm not a fan of silicone watches, but J seemed to like it.

Loot Crate Paracord Bracelet: These bracelets are cool but I honestly hope J never unravels it.  I know that he'll want me to reassemble it if he does.

Spy Mad Libs: ($1.99)

Replica Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Lanyard: Neither J nor I have watched Agents of SHIELD but I've heard nothing but good things about the show.

Orphan Black #1: ($3.99)  I love all the comics with LC exclusive covers they send.  I'm still working through season 1 of Orphan Black, but I'm hooked.

Field Notes Notebooks: ($6.63)  All we need now is a pen with UV reactive ink or something!

Super Emo Bondy Shirt:  This is equal parts adorable, sad, and funny.  

Yes, this is J's subscription but *I* really liked this theme.  I used to love pretending to be a spy as a kid and this brought back all the nostalgia feels.

February Loot Crate Review - Play

February's theme was "Play" and the box unfolds into a game!

Mini Munny: J has actually purchased similar things before, so this was a hit.  I like the fact that the markers it comes with can wipe off so you can redo your design over and over.

Superfight Loot Crate Deck: ($15)  From what I understand, Superfight is sort of like a mix of Cards Against Humanity and a "Pirates vs Ninjas" type argument.

Hexbug Scarab - Red: ($9.99)  I don't entirely understand the appeal of Hexbugs but J's inner child seems to like it so...who am I to judge.

Blueprint Waka Waka Poster: This is super cool and will definitely be framed for J's Geek Cave.

 Ready Player One: ($8.64)  I've mentioned it a few times before, but this is one of my absolute favorite books.  (Plus, Ernest Cline is a really cool guy.)  We obviously already have a copy, but I'm sure I can find someone to gift this to.

Rock, Paper, Scissors Dice:  Basically, RPS without any strategy or mind games.  I dig it.

Because of the exclusive items it's hard to put a value on the box overall, but it's above $35.  Even though we already have RPO, J and I both liked this box for the theme.  I do wish they'd include tabletop game type-items in more boxes, though!

January Loot Crate Review - Rewind

 January's theme was "Rewind."

Black Tie Geek Skinny Tie: Loot Crate actually sent out a bow tie in this same print in 2013.  I'm not entirely sure when/if J will wear this, so I might have to fashion it into a headband.

Comic Note Book: ($5.95)  J has actually been outlining his own comic story, so this is perfect.  It's easily the item he was most excited about.

Star Wars Issue 1: ($4.99)  This is another LootCrate exclusive cover.  Personally, I like the standard cover better since it has a more vintage-y feel to it.

8 Bit Sunglasses: (Similar, $6.98)  This is the third pair of 8 bit sunglasses we've gotten from subscription boxes.  Granted, we have a terrible track record for keeping up with sunglasses so I guess I shouldn't complain.

So Analog 10-Doh! Figure - Alien Attack: (~$10)  This is super cute!  I think I might actually try to swap for the other variations of these.

Flophouse Voltron Tee: ($28)  J is pretty neutral on this shirt, so I might actually steal it because I like the cut of it.  

Total Value: Over $56

I think I was a bit more excited about this crate than J.  When Loot Crate announced that the theme would be Rewind I thought surely they'd be sending a Back to the Future item - I'm a little disappointed that they didn't.

December Loot Crate Review - Anniversary

December's theme was "Anniversary."

Pop! Super Heroes The Joker Batman: (~$15)  It's cool that Loot Crate is getting so many exclusive vinyls.  Unlike the epic Groot one a few months back, J doesn't really have strong feelings about this one way or another.

Simpsons Cast Mighty Wallet: ($15)  J prefers wallets with snaps so Mighty Wallets aren't exactly his thing.  He said he'll probably gift this to one of his friends who loves the Simpsons.

Dancing Groot Socks: (~$9.50)  SO CUTE.  Before even letting me see them, J said that I could have them.  He clearly knew I would have stolen them from him anyway.

Tetris Sticker Set: ($7)  J's apparently going to decorate something in his Nerd-cave with these, but I'm tempted to order a set for myself to use on my laptop.

 Batman #36: ($3.99)  J hasn't read any of the Batman comics, but he is trying to get more into comics in general.

Plasticolor Captain America Air Freshener: ($1.10)  For some strange reason, this was one of the things J is most excited to have gotten this month.  It's probably because his car can always use a new air freshener.

Ghostbusters Door Hanger: J already has a doorhanger for his geek-cave and he's neutral on Ghostbusters, so we'll probably stick this in our pile of random prizes for our next game night.

Total Value: over $51

I've seen a lot of negative feedback on December's box.  It isn't the coolest one ever, but it's far from the worst that we've gotten.  One or the other of us will definitely use enough of the items to have gotten my money's worth.

November Loot Crate Review - Battle

November's theme was Battle.

Mega Bloks Halo Drop Pod - Crimson: ($3.99)  Neither J nor I are big fans of Halo.  It's not that we dislike it, we're just not super into it.

Megaman Mini Helmet Replica - Red: (Loot Crate Exclusive)  This, too, J was kind of "meh" on.

Street Fighter Headband:  (Loot Crate exclusive)  J likes any and all things costume-y so this was right up his alley.

Assassin's Creed Unity Coin: (Loot Crate exclusive)  The reverse side has a place for you to engrave your name, if you so choose.  It's a cool item, though I'm not sure what J will do with it.

Zen Monkey Studios Pirates vs Ninjas Shirt: ($19.99)  J was stoked about this shirt.  I was tempted to try to steal it from him, but I guess I'll let him keep it since I got the kitty one.

Total Value: Over $24

While J wasn't crazy about the majority of this box, the shirt more than makes up for the difference.  I have mixed emotions about all of the exclusives.  It's cool that they're making their own stuff, but it's frustrating not being able to get an accurate value!

October Loot Crate Review - Fear

The Goods: 6-8 items perfect for a geek or gamer with a total value of $40+.

October's theme was "Fear."  The Loot Crate Magazine cover was printed in 3D, so the crate came with little 3D glasses.

 Dead Rising 3 SledgeSaw Pen: ($12?)  This is a Loot Crate exclusive, so that's a SWAG price.  We had no idea this was a pen until just now, when I was flipping through the booklet.  We thought it was just a cool little prop!

Slashes & Bites Tattoos, Toxic Waste Candy, Skin for Smite: ($2?, $.07, $7.99) Neither of us play Smite currently, but J said he might download it and give it a try.  J and I both usually just use makeup for our horror looks, but we might play around with these tattoos,  too.  Probably sometime after Halloween.  Because we're crazy like that.

How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters: ($9.57)  J and I both enjoyed the Sharknado movies, and this book is pretty amazing.  Some of the other disasters that they cover include Boaricanes and Beeclipses.  We both plan to read this ASAP so that we're prepared!

SuperEmoFriends "Oh, Brother" Print: ($15)  I'm not sure how something can manage to be adorable and depressing and terrible and amazing all at the same time, but this does.

The Walking Dead #132: ($2.99)  Okay, is this guy supposed to look like a zombie basketball player, or is it just me?  Anyway.  Since this is a Loot Crate exclusive cover, I was once again put under orders not to open the packaging.

Super 7 Death By Kitten Tee: ($30)  You've got to be kitten me.  This shirt is purrfect! J pulled it out of the box and instantly knew that he would have to let me claim it.

Total Value: Over $65 (Maybe close to $80?)

Listen, the shirt is so epic that I couldn't care less if J liked anything else in his box.  Fortunately, he said the box overall was a win.  It isn't his all time favorite, but it's still one of the better ones we've ever gotten.
